jeanvieveSo Dave comes in tonight, must leave for the airport in a little more than an hour. Then we get up at OMG it's early o' clock to burn down to Monterey and catch up with Baldrick, Spike and Brian. They're going to desert me for the am while I take some work calls (if my boss gets my new .id file to me), and we'll all go to the Aquarium in the afternoon. I hear there's a seahorses display!
I pulled the dumb move of the summer, dumping a whole glass of water onto my work laptop keyboard, which rewarded me by promptly dying. Even after taking it apart into little pieces and drying each piece carefully and letting it sun and air dry open, it wouldn't even show power again. I'm having some issues finding out if the HD is dead, as the external SATA drive is spinning but not finding on the loaner laptop work shipped out. Anyone know how to access such a thing using one's old HD password in some fashion? Advice solicited. (This especially means you, Steve! Be my techno geek king!)
Back on Friday, as the Canadian tour group wanders off to Lassen and Yellowstone after that. I can't take the days off to go with. Saturday night is DCI West at Stanford. I seem to have an extra ticket, so looking for a volunteer to go along. Anyone? Buehller? Wish you were already here, Laina! Possible going to Friday Night Waltz afterwards, if we're up to it.
Possible golf Sunday morning, in some flavor. Working that out. I'm watching Brigit's plants and cats starting Sunday night for 8 days. Dave leaves again on the 1st. Amy and her girls are incoming somewhere near the 10th, I think?
