Settling in

jeanvieveI moved the couch out of the room and put down my rug that I picked up in Athens. It goes perfectly with the walls and all. John donated a bit of decorative metalwork for one of the walls, and I'm contemplating how to put Aunt Dana's plum tree pictures up in a cheap way. May have to hit Michael's to see if they have some cheap matching frames. I need more clothes hangers too.
Went out to see Watchmen with Pete C, and we had a lovely evening debating all things superhero and what they represent moralistically when brought up as modern-ish examples. And other delightful exchanges. Fish and I had dinner at a seafood place, and I had my first sushi since the surgery. I'm happy to say it went down just perfectly! Randy's sick, considering taking a care package tonight with some hot and sour soup.
John's off to his hippie dancing class tonight, so I'll have to walk on my own. At least the wind has died down. He weed whacked the lawn today, and once more I'm struck that I really don't like the smell of fresh mown grass. It makes my nose run.
The cat has settled in nicely. She totally digs having kitchen privileges again, though cannot believe that I'm not interested in feeding her each time I go in there. She even rubs against John's ankles, and no longer bolts when he comes into the room.
Got permission from the boss to attend RSA and expense the expo fee. Whee!
