A good saturday

jeanvieveProjects day went very well. Got the red wall primed with two coats - ready for painting now. We're debating just getting the paint needed for the living room to get going on it. I'm wavering between not wanting more on the credit card and really wanting it done for the holidays. Holidays will probably win. I'm weak.
Apple butter mostly reduced. It's still simmering, but no doubt Geofry will keep an eye on it. Got three bags of apples peeled, and a couple large apple pie guts jars set up. Free food - yum!
Julie came over. Taught her how to use my sewing machine and the basics of sewing so she could do up a few tears in worn clothing. She's just more fun than monkeys! Plus she's willing to sit and watch Michael Bourne's Swan Lake with me and thinks it cool, so win win in my book. Sewed pearls on mom's dress until I killed my last beading needle, started back on the embroidery for John's cavalier. Always something to do!
Played Knights and Cities expansion into the main Catan game for the first time, and I quite like it! We'll do that again, for sure. Lengthens the game though. We didn't get to dancing. Well, to be truthful kinda begged off when we found out it wasn't ballroom. More like a sock hop. Could have been fun under other circumstances, but we have too many projects that need doing.
Carla's going hiking tomorrow, then back here to can some soup she made. We tried to talk Julie into coming back and hanging out too. There's a bakery job open, going to try to get Geof or Mom or both into it. 4a-12p, ick hours, but income would be so good. And Carla and Julie both said they kinda like stripping wallpaper. I felt like Tom Sawyer, if he had only started to talk about how much fun he was having whitewashing only to get muscled aside by the enthusiasts! So we might at least get the kitchen stripped, and soon. Woot!
More chores and crafts tomorrow. Must get new beading needles, get mom's dress done and put away. Going to go shop for paint to see if three can agree on one color, and figure out how much it is. Could start tomorrow. Trying to ride good energy.
Didn't get practice in today, but plan to see if I can seduce Dave (a drummer) into trying out my bodhran. Then we'd only need a guitar player that could figure out Irish chords for music. That'd be a band, that would! Must also do a little work tomorrow sometime.
Every twenty minutes or so I get so thrilled with myself I just can't stand it. Night!
