A couple of you lovely folk seem to be going through a time of trying to find your identity, to know what you love and like, and how you feel about things. To find things to be passionate about. To you I offer one of the chapters in Cynthia Heimel's book "Sex Tips for Girls", where early on she declares it imperative. Because I think she's a genius and the book is one of the more profoundly true tomes of the English language, I salute you with some of mine.

I love big holiday gatherings, with family and friends and food. (3 of my 4 favorite F words. Well, 5 if you count the Latin.)

I love being gathered around a fire talking, or watching a show together, or having group projects and peeling apples for making applesauce. (PS - tomorrow is crafts/project day at my house. Anyone is welcome to show up.) Working together for a common goal is one of my love languages.

I love travel. I still get a rush every single time I'm strapped in and a plane is taking off, or I'm driving and set the MP3 player to the first of my faves list as we head out of town. Alone, in company, it's all good.

I love learning things. I love knowing things. I love all the little trivia games that show just how many small, useless, and occasionally idiotic facts I've picked up. They make me laugh.

I love daydreaming about the future, be it shopping for furniture or watching HGTV. Though I try hard to live every day in the moment, I also simultaneously see tomorrow as now just as much, so yearn for it too. And the past, that Facebook has lured me into wallowing in. (Have just found a bunch of High School friends once more, included my long lost locker partner and later college roommate. Yay, Grover!)

I love books and making music. In fact, I'm going to stop this diatribe and play some music. Ooops. I'm not either as it's 11pm and I was up at 5am. Tomorrow.

I love long hot showers. Sometimes with toys. In fact, that sounds like the perfect alternative to playing flute.

Tomorrow I'm also going dancing with the family - ballroom in Eugene after craft o'clock. Hope you all have as much fun!
