Got up again. Blankie not quite enough to cover the nagging feeling that something is wrong. Checked my accounts. Why am I broke?

Checked my statements. Hm. They stopped processing my OT payments mid October. No big deal. A measely couple hundred a week is not coming in. *snort* Tried to log into the OT program, but it's currently down. Or is it?

They processed my promotion mid October. That may have moved me into an exempt status, and eTotals was just slow playing catch up. Now no more non-exempt OT payments. A neat, tidy, 15% pay cut. Shut me out of eTotals, no more OT claims.

Have sent the sweetest of notes to Payroll with a cc: to my boss asking about the missing weeks, mentioning that I couldn't check to see if I'd forgotten to hit submit, silly me. Have a meeting with Gary tomorrow. If this is not fixed NOW, I could cheerily walk. Between unemployment and pension, plenty o dough to look for a new job. Even if that new job meant I'd have to actually get dressed and go somewhere in the mornings.

This is annoying as hell. But at least I know what's wrong, can sleep now.

I'd be sharpening the surgical equipment if I were in that "big promotion, more responsibilities, 15% less money" situation. That would be some heads a-rollin'...

I've had the "big promotion, more responsibilities, no salary change" thing, and that was bad enough. A pay cut would be a major problem.

That just isn't right. Hopefully there was nobody who actually bothered to figure out the "promotion" (and exempt status) would cost you money, and they'll all be properly shocked, and scrambling to make it right.

They might not have even realized that you'd be shuffled into an exempt status.
