Late start, productive Saturday
Nov. 15th, 2008 11:06 pmMost of the sinus infection is gone, but the cough lingers, especially at night. I didn't sleep well last night, and gave up near dawn to take some nice Nyquil tabs. Then out for the morning. So this is kind of a short Saturday for moi.
However, got a fair bit done. Mowed the back 40, and even restarted the mower a couple of times after going through the reaping. Hey, laugh if you like, but that thing is not user friendly. Wandered to the hardware store, and Geof and I chatted with a nice guy who was willing to take a phone plug apart so we could figure out which pins to attach to. For the record, if you have a four pin system (old and obsolete) you can attach it to numbers 2, 3, 4, and 5 of a new 6-pin connection. I know you'll all sleep better knowing that.
Also talked Geof into swapping out the evil current toilet for a brand new toilet. Cleaned under the old, shimmed the new one to level (oy, this floor). We'll caulk it tomorrow. It's a friendly thing. Picked up the first of the wood pellets for the winter season as well. Now I know why everyone buys a full supply and just stores them in Spring. They're a dollar more a bag in winter.
Made a wonderful vaguely chole like dinner with sweet potatoes, tomatoes, chick peas, sage, onions. It was yummier than John's CIA version - must make for him soon. Actually was thinking a whole Indian meal would be fun. Some warm nan, tzatziki, lamb, chole, fresh tomatoes, maybe some saag. Mmm. We have lamb. Market of Choice has this lovely spinach nan.
Mom's concert is tomorrow, so wandering up to Salem. More friendly green tabs sit here, waiting for me to take them. Got a gazillion stamps at costco, so need to get some of the many envelopes on the piano mailed. Mom's Jonesing for Christmas decorations.
