Accomplishments
Oct. 20th, 2008 01:48 pmGot John addicted to a new media. Boston Legal! He now can walk up and stick out his hand. "JR Schmidt!" Excellent.
John also got with Geofry and helped create a starving artist's garrett aka 'storage space' over the front porch. Yay! More crap out of the way!
Work's been a pill recently, and I've realized that the moles of vague discontent are rooting about in my lawn of work. I've given myself a deadline for feeling better about it all, at which time if I'm not happier I'll bail over into another department where I can feel the love. That decision made, this monday is much more pleasant.
Spent Saturday driving out to Florence, then up to Newport with Mark. As soon as we cleared Eugene we also cleared fog, and it turned out to be a perfect fall day. The chowder down in Florence was num, got some candles. Then fudge on the road, and smoked oysters and bread in Corvallis before coming home.
I kind of liked City of Ember. It was pretty, nice sets, decent casting. Only wanted to flush one child character that seemed to have no other purpose other than to push one button in the movie. In gaming terms, a 25pt dnpc. Not as great a movie as some rave, but no where near as bad a movie as others vilified. All in all, cute for kids, which was the point.
Today also saw my getting back to positive numbers on the virtual stock exchange game I'm playing with Andy up in Seattle. Yay, solvency! He's still 14% ahead though, so I have some aggressive catching up to do. Anyone else want in? There's nothing so fun as playing with imaginary money, save playing with someone else's real money.
Going to sit down and get my voting done tonight while watching Dancing with the Stars, my guilty pleasure. Need to finish repairing my new purple dress, and figure out if I'm going to blow off the spiderweb fabric overdress in favor of just going black Victorian for the vampire ball since I'm low on time. It's looking likely.

Things
Date: 2008-10-20 10:11 pm (UTC)1. Either which way on the Vampire ball, I think we should eat at Zen in Alameda http://www.yelp.com/biz/zen-restaurant-alameda which is near unto the Ball site. Perhaps with others?
2. The back shed. I have a feeling this one is all me.
3. The wiring in the storage area. It's not vital, but would be nice.
4. Wiring the upstairs. Geof has it!
5. November plans: firm up dates and places at some point?
6. Drive to Arcata was beautiful, once off the I-5 corridor.
7. Jean Warner!
