Mischief and such
Oct. 9th, 2008 06:12 pmIck of a morning with meetings most unpleasant. I have not managed to clone myself to get everything done, and the disadvantage of being seen as an Oracle of development is that everyone comes to you with their issues. Dear Directors, after listening to your problems, I can only say that you have not yet identified your problem. Please do some due diligence and return to me with a problem I can solve, and I will be glad to do so. If you want me to identify the problem itself, please see my boss about processing my promotion and raise. Thank you.
Amy's making noises about leaving Dave again. Yay. Though after 2 times of starting then NOT doing it, I'm disinclined to throw money at the situation so much as to point her at the state and county social services that are designed to help penniless mothers stuck in abusive marriages. If she goes through with it and gets papers processed, which will be at least 6 months of hell given him and the kids, I can help again. But to cover the bets, I quietly informed a few philanthropic types back there that could aid her if/when she gets overwhelmed.
Ellie needed cheering up. Talked John into calling her and reciting love poetry to her as a present from me. I think they both appreciated the opportunity. Who doesn't need more romance in their day?
Yes Mark, talking to you during the day is really nice. I'm quite twitterpated about your visit and meeting you.
Mom's up to three now. Irrepressibly cheery. Got a letter from Ian, and he's earned his Marksman designation. Not Sharpshooter or Expert, but it's his first time with a handgun. We'll mercifully forget the BB into the top of his foot.
Gaming tonight, plus I need to get some practice in. So stopping writing now to practice.
