Learnteach came and visited me, and helped me get going on new projects again. Thanks to him, I can turn the light on upstairs from the bottom of the stairs. Oh you who think this is trivial, imagine trying to manage a kiddie door on the carpeted stairs in the darkness when you're half awake but your bladder wants to go to the bathroom NOW. Yay, light switches! Putting the kiddie door on hinges against the wall is glorious.
Apparently most of the walls of this place are an inch thick cedar. It smelled very pleasant when it was being drilled!
Mom grouted beneath the pellet stove, and I stained the upstairs banister. Time spent in the stairwell and hallway up there convince me that we'll totally have to paint after we're done with all our changes. I of course tripped going down the stairs again the other day and have sworn that the staircase carpet is next to go. Carpetted stairs are evil. EEEVAL!!
Got to buy a little of that clear shellac stuff to go over the stain on the stairs. Supposed to be some good weather starting tomorrow through Saturday, so will have a chance to sand the front door and put the second coat on it.
Big vinyl squares for kitchen floors. Will have to hold one and see how they bend. That could answer the kitchen situation with our slope.
It's a peaceful week at work with everyone at RSA. It's a nice break.
