Borrowed Jamie's truck for the weekend to move things. First went to Bring - this neato recycling center. Got a baby gate for $2, a push lawnmower (that's no gas for those wondering) for $10, and 2x8 lumber for $.50/foot. Oh, plus an 8 foot 4x4 for $3. They had windows, tubs, doors, amazing stuff left over. A pallet full of that almost real wood flooring for $120. Cheap tiles. We'll be going there again.

It rained hard off and on today, with intermittant sunshine. Decided not to rototill until tomorrow, at which time half of the backyard will cease to be and become something else. I'm not sure how the whole rototillering part became my thing to do, but it is so I'm rolling with it. Gotta figure out how to saw the wood for the raised beds before the circular saw arrives if Geof hasn't mailed it yet. Got a mini-greenhouse today. It's basically like a set of storage shelves with a custom plastic overlay that zippers up. Totally cute, and $30.

Kathy called tonight. Apparently one of her best friend's girlfriends died tonight of a heroine OD. Tried to cheer her up a bit, threatened she should come out for a road trip here on her way to Seattle to be with the guy. Also set up to go get bait with her while I'm out in Colorado.

And Marchesa yakked up on my pretty new rug by the bed. Couldn't hurk it up on carpet, no no no. Aimed for it - I saw her. Apparently it's common knowledge that it feels better when you yak to mess up something pretty rather than something easily wiped up like hardwood or linoleum.

The noph and mom had an argument, based on nothing that I could tell save that she was pissed he spent all day basically playing video games. Just made for bad waves. Now all off in bed early, hurray. I'm going too though, a little tired. I've got books to read, and a string to pull for miss yakmistress.

If I should ever throw up at your house, I promise not to do it on anything pretty. :) In other astounding feats of "why do they do it" one of my cats has begun peeing in the sink. It's the same one who spends twenty minutes digging to China in the litterbox - she apparently has some issues.

Hey, how we eat and pee matter. That's why kitchens and bathrooms put back all the money you invest. We must learn from the furry little poltroons.
