Upon the eve of change
Dec. 29th, 2007 01:49 amChristmas was good. Friends and gaming and eating. Leftovers galore if you like pork roast. And I do!
The cat is better, I think. Still on the antibiotics, and peeing a little less blood. Here's hoping no more animal expenses in the near future. Now, what the little stress monkey does riding in my car as it's pulled across country, I can't begin to imagine. Well, I can. Definitely riding in the cat carrier, yup.
Closing costs are a little less than anticipated, which is good. Learned a NIFTY trick with U-Haul. Make your reservation. Go online and find the cheapest rental alternative, which for me was Penske. Get quotes for everything. Call U-Haul and tell them you're cancelling because Penske was cheaper. (And by over $500 total for the move!) They will immediately renegotiate your rates to beat the opponent and keep your business. No joke.
Will see if they pull anything funny when I go to pick up the trucks, but in general feeling so accidentally cool and clever! I take a moment for myself. Bow down! That's enough, I feel your love.
Took Amy out on our last date to see Sweeny Todd. Which is creepy good horror! Lots of blood. Great movie. "Try the Priest!" Will miss my girl.
Dave's out on a date with Kathy. Fingers crossing! I'd love it if those two got along. Some of my fave people, and they'd suit one another in support of outdoorsy things. Though she's more of a skiing nut and he's a judo boy. Alas, I hear him thumping in upstairs, so he didn't make the best of his opportunity of being her driver and stay over at her house. What a gentleman. Idiot.
Just finished changing my addresses with the post office and my credit cards and bank. There are moments I love the modern age. Now to figure out if the 'good faith estimate' from my loan people is really the amount of money I need in the cashier's check.
On the road 1/1. Wish us well.
