Strange coincidences
Oct. 31st, 2007 11:57 pmI was thinking about a gal I used to work with - Kathy Eike. We were together at Nupremis, did lunch regularly, and got along like ham and eggs. Then today out the the blue I get an email from her. Turns out Kathy works for InfoPrint Solutions (like bratgrrl) and can sametime me - which is IBM's instant messaging! And now lives in Gunbarrel instead of off in the mountains!
We gleefully took off work early and went to Chilis for drinks and dinner (as Dave bagged on dinner and movies), and did some catching up. Wow, have I missed that girl. All the energy of a constantly moving machine. I learned most of my PM and tech proposal writing/requirements analysis from talking to her. I still have copies of a couple of her documents squirreled away as good examples. Must get this girl somewhere within my department, as we need her desperately.
Convinced her to come waltzing with us on wednesdays, probably will spend part of the weekend with her. Yay! Like having a bestest pal back again. I mentioned I'm moving to Oregon. She'd like to live in Vancouver. Hurray for the west coast!
Anyway. Just the happiest sort of day when things work out unexpectedly. I think it's part of that general positive thing - when you're happy, serendipity starts to lean your way.
Going to talk Jamie into looking at a couple of homes for me out in Eugene, if I can. I trust her judgement, based on her house and how we know one another from work and travelling for work. Mike found me a lender and I'm pre-approved already. Also have new real estate agent that seems VERY sharp and on things. Glad I signed nothing with the nice but not really smart other chippie who was really just a car to drive between homes I pointed out.
Now just need the MLS listing and a buyer. Yeah!
