A sonnet

This galleon long through storms I did command
And staunchly did I stand upon the fore
Directing route and sail with wave of hand
And gazing out, I longed for nothing more.
Until a dream I passed one evening sweetly,
A siren song did sound within my ears
Regailing me with love, but passing fleetly
Yet luring me to come, ignoring fears.
See what a mariner love hath made me,
That leaving charted waters now I sail.
No crew, but following where love has bade me
Alone I stand, not fearful lest I fail.
The shore is left behind, and now I face
The sea to find within that song my place.
