Ode to Michael Jackson
Jun. 26th, 2009 04:26 pmOh Michael, I hardly knew you,
To fame's great heights you rose
And every time that I saw you,
you were wearing a different nose.
In the eighties I first found your music
And I thought you were totally hot
(Though with all of the subsequent changes,
I fear at the end you were not.)
I didn't believe all the scandals
For all of your world of toys
I never thought you were naughty
Or did bad things with those little boys.
Your flick "Thriller" changed MTV-land
And your "Beat It" got Yankovic wild
No wild parties, no excessive drinking,
Your public manner seemed mild.
You gave pop all new topics for singing
Not just cars or wild sex, it's a hoot
How you had us all dancing and singing
All about a paternity suit.
To fame's great heights you rose
And every time that I saw you,
you were wearing a different nose.
In the eighties I first found your music
And I thought you were totally hot
(Though with all of the subsequent changes,
I fear at the end you were not.)
I didn't believe all the scandals
For all of your world of toys
I never thought you were naughty
Or did bad things with those little boys.
Your flick "Thriller" changed MTV-land
And your "Beat It" got Yankovic wild
No wild parties, no excessive drinking,
Your public manner seemed mild.
You gave pop all new topics for singing
Not just cars or wild sex, it's a hoot
How you had us all dancing and singing
All about a paternity suit.
