Arg! Ran away from home.
Jan. 23rd, 2009 12:07 amTurns out Atlanta got me after all. I'd bought something at the front desk for personal use, and used my debit card. The reservation, everything else on the Corporate card. Or supposed to be. The girl at the front desk at 4am when I checked out accidentally ran it all on the Debit card. So suddenly when I went to check my balance today I'm in the red for hundreds. Not that the hotel was that expensive, but they charged me $31 each time (7) they tried an NSF against my savings for each small amount. Like, a penny courtesy transfer cost $31.01.
Called the hotel, and got them to reverse the charges and charge against my Amex properly. No problem. The lady claimed that the reservation had been on the Visa. So suddenly the burden of proof was on me! Called Amex travel services, lovely folks. They pulled up my reservation numbers, showed that no, they'd sent my Amex all right. Was it the HHonors program? No, checked that too. Still fine. Really, it was the girl at the front desk that made an error, and because you don't sign anymore for your hotel room I didn't catch it.
So after another farce of calling the bank and calling the hotel, I finally just got the name of people at either end and gave them each others' information asking them to sort it out. I don't feel that I owe the $210 for a mistake that was not mine. The guy at the bank didn't really either, apparently, and said he'd sort it out for me. If not? I may leave them because this is rediculous.
Kind of a downer on a listless day. Another 7 hours of meetings from 8 to 3, with people still expecting me to get a lot of documentation and presentations done. Ever just say "I'm done for the day!"? I was. Went to game night down at the 'Wich Shop in Eugene.
Nice surprise there - there were about 12 people who showed up. There's an intriguing looking BSG game I want to try out sometime soon.
Anyway. Don't tell anyone that I only have 3 meetings tomorrow, so may actually accomplish a goal or two.
