A nice sunday

jeanvieveMade Geofry get off the couch to pull weeds with me. I try to keep to the three I know for sure, and only chance the other obvious ones when I think they're out of place.
Then wandered out to see Igor, which was adorable. Two movies in one weekend, how indulgent! Though Ironman was at the $2 theatre. Anyway, came back and the three of us with Carla played some mahjongg. I won all three games, and they all refused to play any more. One of those lucky nights, I guess.
Much more fun than now digging through business cases to figure out 2009 marketing information. If this were mine to do again next year, and it may be, I'm kinda thinking that I'll do this as the DCPs come up instead. It's taking 15 minutes to process each line item. Why is this not automated? Why aren't we using databases to store this information and approvals instead of flat files? Why isn't this a technology company? {/rant}
I've appointments set up with a district sales guy and a friend I pushed into sales engineering to find out what they both think is the gap between marketing plans and making sales figures. I know nothing of sales in terms of the mechanics of it, nor really have I studied marketing. So this will be an exciting and scary new direction to grow for a while.
Just booked my flight down to SJC, staying for a week this time. Hopefully enough time to see folks, meet someone new, do dinner with an old friend long lost in the whorls of time and space, schmooze out. Then off to Napa. One day of wine touring. I think I'll spend a day in the hot tub and writing for the second.
