Cheered for the underdogs today! Heard so much of "Ooh, Peyton. Kiss me you stud!" from the newscasters that I had to cheer for the baby brother just so he could do well! Plus undefeated, perfect season, blah blah. Pats win too often, voting for someone else.

Jamie and Rae came over for gaming at noon, was fun to play some board games with the ladies. They pointed us toward a recycled lumber yard, and offered us unlimited compost and mulch via their horses and a loaner truck that we'll be able to set up raised garden beds earlier than I'd planned. Just need a clear Saturday after tax returns come in to get started.

Made a lovely italian sausage and gorgonzola risotto today for lunch, finally found a good sausage sans MSG here in town. It's not Canino's, but it's still tasty. No point in not buying expensive gorgonzola though.

Aunt Marilyn is here. I'll be a bit surprised if she lives 2 more years at this rate. She doesn't take good care of herself at all. I have a bad feeling.

Lots to do monday, with monthly portfolio reviews with our VP. I've thoroughly screwed up a pivot table, so will spend the morning trying to sort what the heck I did wrong. May fall back to previous edition and punt.

Visitor coming this Friday night. Yay! Nervous.

I am definitely positively going for the MA and then the PhD. Checking out Eugene schools for graduate work, now. Love Idaho but it's too damn dry for sustenance farming, so probably head out to you as soon as I graduate - looking at winter 2008-9 now. Mihai and I doing well, very friendly and happy if not amorous. Have the biggest frickin garden I've had in years, already eating mesclun out of it, made a little hoop greenhouse. Considering purchase of a couple Bantam chickens for eggs.

I was particularly happy to hear about compost / manure situation. How's your property look? I have spring break in March, maybe a road trip to help you & Mom set up garden is in order?

Sounds brilliant! Would TOTALLY love to see you for a while!

They had this solar greenhouse on display for about $1,200 at the garden show. We got a card for the guy, want one. It's so cute!! Also can move with us.

We're looking at starting grass removal soon, followed by raised beds. GOing to just take out a whole section of the backyard for the raised bed area, and lay down something around them to prevent weeds/grass return. Cedar or redwood shavings if we can find them cheap.

The boy goes off to military in September. Yay! School started today. My first truly peaceful day for working at home. Ahhhh.

No noogie? So just friends now then? That can be a very good thing. Friends are important.
