Win some, lose some
Oct. 26th, 2007 03:21 amSo. I had an amazing jaunt out to the coast. Dave and Stacia and Pony all came along, and we did San Francisco as tourists, complete with dancing on Saturday night. (Thanks John!) Then up to Napa and wine country, ending in a delightful port tasting. As one supposes one should end a wine tasting.
Had to send Stacia home, but we talked John into coming up to Oregon with us to help me hunt for houses. So loading up the magical mystery van, we headed off down the twistiest roads we could locate in northern california. A brief stop in Ashland (very cute), and we found Eugene at Jamie's house late at night.
Thanks to Jamie and Rae for putting up with a huge pile o' my friends at once - Geofry flew into Portland and met us there. Proceeded to wander about. I made a mistake and lost my heart utterly to a house, only to have it broken today in hearing that it's no longer on the market. I know I know, don't fall in love with real estate.
And yet inkling in the back of my head is this disaster of a 5 br turn of the century house in the historic part of Springfield. Inside is a disaster area the likes of which you'll not have seen in some time, layers of humanity and dog crap and detritus. But the bones of the place are beautiful, the doors solid. The molding intact and lovely. The kitchen of the size and shape and layout to steal a girl's breath with the delight of fantasizing.
If I've given up projects in my love life, can I have one for a house? They're asking way too much. Wayyyy too much. But if they come down $60k, I could be so very tempted.
Anyway. My condo hasn't sold yet, darn it, so still having to run ads there. Trying to rerun it on Craig's list too. Anyone know someone poor looking for a 1br condo in Boulder? I'll miss this place, it's location was faboo. But my heart already moved out west into the rain. Now to find a safe place for it to land.

You haven't even really had a chance to play.
