More weekend goodness
Mar. 29th, 2009 05:18 pmWell, I missed the show with Fish last night, invoking the babe clause, which was made of win.
Alas, I hear John's father had a minor stroke and is his usual delusional self and won't take his meds. John called and says he'll likely be out in Reno until Thursday at the earliest trying to get things settled. I vote for getting the guy proved mentally incompetent (the doctors are NOT trying to poison you with the little pills) (and Louis' cat is NOT secretly working mind control on little Ted) (Okay, maybe the last is true) and committed so that he can get good care at last. But the lads are still a mite soft. Anyway, he's in a rough patch so if you follow his LJ too send kind thoughts.
Found Whole Foods at last. What a happy place! Also there's a DRIVE THROUGH COFFEE KIOSK on the way back, so sitting here with a sugar free caramel decaf nonfat latte and feeling just jiggy with the world and everyone in it. There's a kid's birthday party next door with a giant inflatable palace, and it's been kid central all afternoon.
Herding gourds. Their decorative season has passed.
Was contemplating seeing if I could put the bed together, but it'll keep. My ambition isn't that high on a lazy lovely Sunday.
Found we do have a bottle of white wine I can use in the Risotto. Detaching it from the sticky stuff at the back of this 'fridge tells me my next task. I've got a balsamic, port and maple syrup reduction going on the stove. Will cook the carrots, beans, cabbage and blueberries and a little ginger in it for going on the baby spinach Laura is bringing. Then an italian sausage, mushroom and gorgonzola risotto to go with, along with some little antipasto nibblets. Dinner in 2 hours - I have time to start attacking the fridge before then.
My skinny jeans are nearly too big for me. Another happy thought. This goes well.
